I have used 2 of the 3 bits that came with my
attachment...don't know the name or number of the bits. Look like a drill bit
with a little less twist toward the tip.
I carve in 1" (white Styrofoam) and 2" foam
(blue and pink). I set the router to cut 1/2" deep. I print out the
epitaphs using Microsoft Word and a font size between 200 and 350 depending
upon the size of the stone and number of words, letters needed. Word does not
have these font sizes listed in the drop down menu, but you can just enter
them in the font size box one you select it.
I tape the paper to the foam with a few small pieces of masking
tape and then just carve right thru the paper and foam. I've found it best to
cut any "internal" parts of the letter first....when butting and
"o" (or "a", "e", etc.) cut the section around
the middle first. Be careful as a ball of melted foam forms around the tip of
the blade and cuts a wider path than you see on the foam surface. With letters
like a small "a" and "e" this can cause the
"center" you want to stay fall out if not careful.
